Cricket News: The third and final match was postponed due to rain, and India defeated New Zealand 1-0 to win the three-match T20I series. Some of the players in the series put on some outstanding cricket performances, with the brazen Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav leading the way.
When the rest of the batting lineup struggled to get going in the second T20I of the series, Suryakumar smashed an unbeaten 111 off just 51 deliveries. Glenn Maxwell, an all-arounder for Australia, was left speechless after Suryakumar dealt the Kiwis a devastating blow. Maxwell recently claimed that he sent Aaron Finch a screenshot of India’s batting innings.
“I had no idea the game was underway. But after doing so, I sent Finchy (Aaron Finch) a screenshot of the scorecard along with the question, “What’s going on here?” He is playing baseball on a totally different world! Look at the scores of the other players and then at this guy who scored 111 off of 50,” remarked Maxwell.
“The embarrassing part is that he is so much better than everyone else,” I thought as I watched the complete replay of the innings. It’s nearly impossible to watch. Suryakumar Yadav is carrying it out in a peculiar, awkward manner. By moving away and choosing to sweep someone who bowls at 145, he is merely striking the middle of the bat, the expert continued.
Then, all he does is lay his head down, chew some gum, tap his glove and bat, and then go to repeat the process. He plays some of the most absurd shots I’ve ever seen, and he does it repeatedly and badly. It’s difficult to see because it makes everyone else look terrible for being unable to achieve that, Maxwell said.
The Men in Blue will take on the Kiwis in a three-match ODI series following the end of the T20I series, led by seasoned southpaw Shikhar Dhawan.
