IPL XI: The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been around for 15 years. Over the years, the competition has seen some of the greatest players in the world put up some incredible performances. Many uncapped players have also made a significant impression, which has helped them break into the national team. Many IPL veterans have announced their all-time XI throughout the years, and former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh joined the bandwagon on Tuesday by naming his MS Dhoni-led team.
Five Indian players, including captain MS Dhoni, three West Indians, and one each from Australia, Sri Lanka, and South Africa make up the side.
Harbhajan chose Chris Gayle of the West Indies to start alongside Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma. With the addition of former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli, he completed the top-order line-up.
Harbhajan then added Shane Watson, a former Chennai Super Kings teammate, at No. 4, followed by AB de Villiers, a former RCB teammate, at No. 5, Dhoni at No. 5, and his teammate Ravindra Jadeja at No. 6.
Harbhajan then confessed that choosing between Kieron Pollard and Dwayne Bravo, two West Indian greats, was a difficult decision. However, he ultimately chose the former as his third all-rounder. Sunil Narine, Lasith Malinga, and Jasprit Bumrah completed the India legend’s bowling attack.
Three of these 11 players have already retired from the tournament: De Villiers, Watson, and Malinga, while Gayle went unsold at the mega auction in February.
The remaining seven players are currently competing in the IPL 2022 in Maharashtra, where the Gujarat Titans are dominating the points table with six wins in seven games, while the five-time champion Mumbai Indians are winless in eight games. With two wins in eight games, CSK is a position above them in ninth place.
