IND vs SL: Indian captain Rohit Sharma expressed his shock and worry that pacer Jasprit Bumrah would not be available for the ODI series against Sri Lanka that is set to start on January 10. (Tuesday). Bumrah was recently added to the team after previously not being included in the roster announcement. However, the BCCI announced that he would not be participating in the series before the first ODI against Sri Lanka.
In relation to this, Rohit Sharma affirmed that the Gujarati pacer was uneasy about his back. He also stressed the value of having a Bumrah who is in peak physical condition.
“Very regrettable. The poor man has put in a lot of effort at the NCA. He recently experienced back stiffness, and if Jasprit Bumrah reports feeling unwell, you must remove him. On the eve of the first ODI, which would take place in Guwahati,” Rohit was quoted as stating, “We need to be extra careful with Bumrah.
Early on Monday, the BCCI announced that Bumrah would not play in the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. “Bumrah will need more time to develop his bowling resilience. He was scheduled to join the team in Guwahati prior to the ODI series. In its media warning, BCCI stated that this decision was made as a precaution.
