T20 World Cup 2022: The new uniform for New Zealand Cricket has been introduced in time for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. On Thursday, September 29, the Black Caps announced it via their official social media accounts and made the replica jersey accessible in the shop.
The 2022 T20 World Cup jersey for New Zealand combines the traditional grey with the brand-name black of NZC. The Southern Cross has been substituted for the fern with a respect to the country and as a prominent T20 logo.
The retro-styled uniform is a clear departure from their 2021 T20 World Cup outfit.
New Zealand will try to improve upon their performance from the previous year, when they fell to Australia in the Dubai final. The 173-run goal was set by the Black Caps, led by Kane Williamson’s brilliant 48-ball 85. Williamson’s performance was overshadowed by Mitchell Marsh’s unbroken 50-ball 77, which helped Australia win their first T20 championship.
