Adidas and Inter Miami have collaborated to design a special shirt in honor of Earth Day. The players of the Major League Soccer club will wear shirts made entirely of recycled material on Saturday.
Beckham Club unveil recycled shirt with help from sharks
The club where David Beckham is one of the policymakers is trying to create more awareness with the special kit. Inter Miami wants to underline that recycling is essential for a cleaner world. That’s why players of the club wear a special kit in the away game against Houston Dynamo on Earth Day.
The recycled shirt is spectacularly presented in a campaign that focuses on the ocean. A model swims with the special Inter Miami jersey among the sharks. The club has shared a video showing how the beautiful images were made.
The dark time of Drenthe: “I didn’t leave my mother’s house for two months”
Speaking of former Real Madrid employees, Royston Drenthe is currently working in healthcare. A dark period in his life led him to this striking career switch.
During the corona lockdown in 2020, the former Real Madrid player suffered a severe burnout. “At one point I was at my mother’s house and didn’t leave her house for two months,” he said. He spent his days lounging aimlessly on the couch and watching Netflix. He added, “I was completely out. Didn’t feel like anything. I didn’t even go to the hairdresser. I was just the complete opposite of Royston.”
At first he tried to help himself to his feet without professional help. He left for Spain and played football there for Racing Murcia and Real Murcia. Last summer he returned to the Netherlands and the demons of his burnout did not disappear by themselves.
“I was an empty iPhone, but I find that this work is like a charger for me”
During that period he regularly sat in front of his mother, aunt or sisters and wept. Drenthe continued, “I felt very sad so often during that phase, but I didn’t know why. Traumatic things I had bottled up for years. Some things I didn’t even remember, but they were taunting me. You know, right? They saw me break down inside. I’ve seen people talk to me and break completely. Purely because it touched them to see me like this.” It was a difficult time, especially because he saw how much it hurt his loved ones.
Drenthe has been working hard on itself ever since. He attends therapy sessions and works with a life coach. He was looking for a way to return to normal society after his wild football life. That is why he is now working in healthcare. What the clients do not know is that they are unconsciously rebuilding the old Drenthe. He concluded, “I was an empty iPhone, but I find that this work is like a charger for me.”
