Inter Miami CF has completed its second season in Major League Soccer and fans can’t wait to see what the future holds. The rumors of a collaboration with Lionel Messi are getting new life and there are more stars in view.
Inter Miami is the club chaired by David Beckham and Messi has long been linked with a move to the MLS club. This Sunday, The Times announces that the Argentinian superstar, now 35 years old, is now really close to an agreement with the Americans. Messi has an expiring contract with Paris Saint-Germain and could transfer to former PSG player Beckham’s project in the summer on a free transfer.
Messi is placated with the prospect of being able to play football with his best football friends again. Luis Suárez (35) and Cesc Fàbregas (35) should also come to the club. Fabregas is currently on the payroll of the Italian second division club Como, while Suárez is on a free transfer after the World Cup. In recent months, he kept himself fit at Nacional in Uruguay.
According to the Spanish Cadena COPE, Sergio Busquets (34) is also on his way to Inter Miami. The Barcelona figurehead has an expiring contract at the Camp Nou and wants to embark on one more great adventure in the autumn of his career. According to Cadena COPE, Busquets is already around with Inter Miami, but there is no official confirmation of that report (yet).
If the rumors are correct, Inter Miami can change its nickname to the American Barcelona. Messi, Suárez, Fàbregas and Busquets played together for years at the Spanish superpower. In December 2011, the foursome became world champions with Barcelona and in the 2012/13 season they became champions of Spain. Fabregas was not there when Barcelona won the Champions League in 2011 and left when it happened again in 2015.
