Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Xavi Simons might resume his career in Spain’s La Liga, instead of in France and Ligue 1. That is because, among related news of other Catalan football transfers, Barcelona may target Paris Saint-Germain’s Xavi Simons next year.
Xavi Simons has scored 2 goals and provided 4 more in 4 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain in this 2021-22 campaign.
As for his career history with the club, Simons moved to Paris back in 2019. And though he is currently part of PSG’s under-19 squad, Simons was originally a La Masia academy graduate. And thence, to Barcelona’s Camp Nou, he may now return.
Barcelona May Target Paris Saint-Germain’s Xavi Simons Next Year
According to Cadena SER, Barcelona are willing to bring back the young Xavi Simons to the club.
As it is, Simons’ contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in the summer of 2022. So, there’s also a chance for the Catalan club to sign the player over from the French side as a free agent.
The 18-year-old Dutchman’s agent, the famous Mino Raiola, is also in on this potential football news.
Raiola has reportedly discussed the possible transfer of his client to Barcelona with the Blaugrana chairman and president Joan Laporta.
Laporta, on his part, would like to have Simons back. Indeed, the president, who had to give up Lionel Messi to PSG, even “loves” the idea of the youngster leaving PSG on a free to rejoin Barca.
