Borussia Dortmund, starring Erling Haaland, took on Union Berlin at Signal Iduna Park in the Bundesliga fifth round yesterday. And, with the match highlights already here in Bundesliga football news, Dortmund won 4-2 with Haaland’s brace against Union Berlin.
It only took 10 minutes for the hosts to break the deadlock in the Borussia Dortmund – Union Berlin match. Raphael Guerreiro put the stunner into the top-right corner of Andreas Luthe’s goal.
One goal soon became two for Dortmund, as Erling Haaland sent a header into the right side of the net.
The game effectively ended in the second half, when Marvin Friedrich bundled the ball into his own goal for 3-0.
Max Kruse tried to get Union back in the game by scoring his season’s first goal, just five minutes later.
Fischer’s men weren’t about to give their proud unbeaten record up without a fight. And so, they scored a second goal through substitute Andreas Voglsammer. Voglsammer tried his luck with a precise header that went right inside the post.
Borussia Dortmund quickly extinguished any hopes of a comeback for Union Berlin, however. This is because Erling Haaland added his second goal of the evening. It was the Norwegian youngster’s 10th goal in 8 appearances this season.
When the match then ended 4-2, it placed Dortmund third in the standings, with only Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg ahead.
