The BVB men secured a conclusive 3-0 win over Greuther Furth, a club at the bottom of Bundesliga.
So, because Dortmund are now in second place with 34 points, they are below leaders Bayern Munich by six points.
Bundesliga Football News – Haaland’s Brace Helped Dortmund Win
Erling Haaland, the Norwegian international, opened his account in the 33rd minute.
He then also grabbed, via a powerful header in the 82nd minute, his 53rd league goal across 53 Bundesliga matches.
Dutchman Donyell Malen added a third goal for Dortmund, further sealing the match result in their favour.
Malen’s smart finish at the far post in the 89th minute was his fifth goal in six games across competitions.
Furth, who earned their first win of the season last week, kept the hosts at bay for about 25 minutes.
At that point, a superb Haaland no-look pass found Thorgan Hazard whose one-touch finish went in but was unfortunately offside.
Haaland then scored a goal himself just a little later with a well-struck penalty, which followed a hand ball.
The Norwegian wonderkid could have added another goal to his tally minutes later. However, then, around 40 minutes in, Haaland could not direct the ball into the net from eight metres.
Beside him, Furth also almost scored with a sucker punch in the 38th but Cedric Itten’s shot sailed just wide.
Eventually, though, Haaland and team made sure that Borussia Dortmund would earn the three points in style, with three goals!
Haaland powered in a header from a Julian Brandt free kick only eight minutes from death time. This goal not only completed his brace, but was also his 13th league goal of the campaign.
And finally in the match came Malen’s last-minute goal, which he scored in literally the 89th minute.
