Edinson Cavani could get a penalty from the English Football Association for posting racially sensitive words on Instagram, after yesterday’s Manchester United win, according to The Guardian.
Cavani came in at halftime when United lost 2-0, and then the Uruguayan brought a big turnaround to his team with an assist and two goals.
After the match, he thanked his friend for congratulating him. But he used the words: “Thanks, negrito.”
The word “negrito” used by the Uruguayan and he claims that the word is used in good faith in South America.
Still, new penalties introduced by the Premiership before the season for using racist expressions could cost Cavani.
Namely, according to the regulations, the use of such terms on social networks is at least a suspension of three games.
