Real Madrid is heading for a blistering end to the season. Although the national title is out of sight, Los Blancos is still playing for two main prizes. Nevertheless, trainer Carlo Ancelotti expressed the alarm.
Ancelotti sounds the alarm about injury Modric: “He is irreplaceable”
Last week Real Madrid suffered a hard visit to Girona. A week and a half before the date with Manchester City in the semi-finals of the Champions League, this loss caused great concern. Especially because Luka Modric was injured. “We are injured, he is irreplaceable,” Ancelotti told AS.
“We now have to wait and see how he recovers,” Ancelotti continued. The Italian was not exactly happy with the injury of the veteran in Madrid’s midfield. Especially because the cup final is still planned for the confrontation with City. He continued, “It’s doubtful he’ll make it. That will be reviewed every day. It is clear that we will miss him very much.”
According to Ancelotti, the fact that his team at Girona was not a shadow of itself is due to the busy schedule. Something that also has to do with Modric’s absence. “It’s very demanding. We can’t even prepare for all the matches. Sometimes you concentrate and sometimes you don’t. It happens to everyone, good days and bad. The players are at their limit,” he added.
Ancelotti has several flavors to replace Modric. Yet he is doubtful that anyone can bear that burden. He said, “We have Dani Ceballos, Eduardo Camavinga or Aurélien Tchouaméni. It’s a lot of options. But Modric is irreplaceable. That’s because of his experience in big competitions.”
Ronaldo clearly disagrees with the referee
Speaking of Real Madrid, their record goalscorer, Cristiano Ronaldo, booked a convincing victory with Al-Nassr and the Portuguese also scored another goal. The attacker also showed his misunderstood side.
Ronaldo laid the foundation for Al-Nassr’s 4-0 win in the fourth minute with a striking header, which came three points from leader Al-Ittihad due to the victory. It was already his 835th goal in his career, but the hunger has not been satisfied.
Al-Raed showed that once again. On two occasions, Ronaldo was furious with the referee, who had left his pleas unanswered on two occasions. The VAR was also on the side of the referee, who thus deprived Ronaldo of the opportunity to further increase his production from the spot. He therefore got stuck on twelve goals in fourteen matches for Al-Nassr.
