Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola doesn’t think that the surprise defeat to Southampton on Sunday shows the club’s wish to sign up for new members.
When questioned whether the loss for City was because of them needing fresh players, Guardiolato reporters: “Actually, I don’t believe so.”
He went on about his squad, “Frankly speaking we are performing well. We’re playing with the character and trying to move until the finish. We were competing in the penalty area against Southampton who had 10 players. We have done it very good.”
He then blamed their strategy and not their players: “We’ll analyze the game, so we’ll be trying to do better for the opportunities we’ve got. It’s hard to make better opportunities than we’ve generated with the way we’ve achieved it.
“I’m so proud that I liked the way we played but it’s not enough. There’s no complaint about the players. We’ve played really well, I like it but it’s not enough to win the games.”
