Lucas Hernández is leaving Bayern Munich after four years. The defender is now in Paris, concluding his deal to Paris Saint-Germain, according to different French media. After that, Min-Jae Kim of Napoli replaces Hernández at Bayern.
Bayern allows PSG to buy their record player, and Kim will take over for him
With a transfer cost of 80 million euros, Hernández, 27, moved from Atlético Madrid to Bayern in 2019. He remains Der Rekordmeister’s most expensive acquisition. According to reports, he will now join PSG for almost 50 million euros. As a result, Bayern takes a hefty loss but may acquire Kim from Napoli for the same sum.
How Hernández will be received in Paris is the question. The Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) of PSG made it obvious through the chairman that Hernández was not wanted due of his origins. The 33-time French international was born in Marseille. The defender has not decided to scrap a transfer as a result of it.
Hernández only played eleven games for Bayern last season, mainly due to injuries. The defender missed the entire second half of the season due to a cruciate ligament injury. In total, Hernández came to 107 duels for Bayern in four years.
Bayern trigger release clause of Kim Min-jae
It seems that Min-jae Kim will soon be presented as the latest addition to Bayern Munich.
According to several German media, the German national champion has reached an agreement with the South Korean defender on a five-year contract. Bayern only has to transfer the transfer fee of reportedly fifty million euros that is in Kim’s contract to Napoli. With the arrival of Kim, Bayern trumps Manchester United. Erik ten Hag’s club reportedly had Kim on the radar for a long time.
The 26-year-old would thus become Matthijs de Ligt’s new defense partner at Bavaria. Last season he played an important role in Napoli’s Scudetto. There he was only active for one season. Last summer, Napoli took over him from Fenerbahçe for eighteen million euros.
De Ligt always acted as left central defender in Thomas Tuchel’s team. Last season he was alternately next to Dayot Upamecano and Benjamin Pavard in the center. Bayern already said goodbye to Daley Blind (free transfer) and João Cancelo (back to Manchester City), while another defender Lucas Hernández would be on his way to Paris Saint-Germain. Konrad Laimer (RB Leipzig) and Raphaël Guerreiro (Borussia Dortmund) previously joined Bayern on a free transfer. Harry Kane should come over from Tottenham Hotspur.
