Donny van de Beek’s agent has welcomed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s comments that consolidated the ex-Ajax player’s place in the team. So, among other Manchester United football news, Solskjaer confirms Van de Beek’s future with the Red Devils club.
Following a £35-million move from Ajax last September, Donny Van de Beek had an anti-climactic debut season with Manchester United.
Unfortunately, the 24-year-old started just four Premier League games in his first season at Old Trafford.
Adding to his misfortunes, injuries forced him to miss the Netherlands’ Euro 2020 campaign in the international summer as well.
Now, in United’s latest campaign, he has remained an unused substitute in their first two games of the 2021-22 season.
However, now, finally, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given “clarity” to Donny van de Beek’s future at Manchester United.
And, according to the midfielder’s agent Guido Albers, Solskjaer says he has a big role to play for Manchester United.
Manchester United Football News – Solskjaer Confirms Van de Beek’s Future
Following Manchester United’s 1-1 EPL draw with Southampton on Sunday, head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reassured Donny Van de Beek.
He consoled the player, and the media as well, that he is an “important” part of his plans this season.
And Guido Albers, Donny Van de Beek’s agent, believes that Solskjaer will keep his word.
He is confident that the United coach will use the Ajax academy product more frequently over the next nine months.
“Everyone within the club knows that Donny cannot have another season like last year,” Albers told De Telegraaf.
“In preparation, clarity has been provided about his role,” the agent added.
“The fans had already embraced him before, but the most important thing is that the trainer has now provided clarity in the English press.
“We are happy with that. And I assume that Donny will play a lot in one of the positions in midfield in the coming period.”
