Everton have pulled off a “shrewd signing” in Joshua King, says Noel Whelan, with the ex-Bournemouth striker and Dominic Calvert-Lewin a potential “match made in heaven”.
Whelan told Football Insider: “I think that’s a really shrewd move by Ancelotti. He’s got someone with a bit of pace, a real direct style of running, plays on the shoulder of defenders.
“I think if he gets a good relationship going with Calvert-Lewin that could be a match made in heaven.”
The 29-year-old moved to Goodison Park on transfer deadline day on a deal to the end of the season.
