After a 1-2 victory for the Italian Cup, here are reactions to Juventus winning the Coppa Italia final over Atalanta.
Juventus won the Italian Cup for the fourteenth time, having last won it in 2018.
Juventus secured the lead just over half an hour into the match. Weston McKennie intercepted the ball at 31 minutes and passed it to Dejan Kulusevski. The Swede’s precise, technical strike hit the left post.
However, Atalanta equalized ten minutes later when Ruslan Malinovski struck his own precise shot. He scored a goal after Hans Hateboer’s pass.
With a tie in the first half, Juventus gave their all to score their winning, second goal. In the 73rd minute, Frederico Chiesa passed to Kulusevski, who passed right back. From there, Chiesa ran impetuously into the penalty area and scored.

Gian Piero Gasperini
Atalanta head coach Gian Piero Gasperini commented on the 1-2 defeat to Juventus in the Italian Cup final.
“Disappointment is inevitable,” Gasperini told Rai Sport.
“It was an even, tough game; both teams were good and acted at a high tempo,” he then analysed the match.
“We were unlucky in the decisive moments, especially with the first goal and the penalty on Pessina, but we tried our best,” he added.
“In the second half it was more difficult, there was more tactical fighting. We had more problems. And Chiesa scored a great goal.”
Andrea Pirlo
Juventus head coach Andrea Pirlo has also commented on their Italian Cup final title win against Atalanta.
“We deserve to win the Cup,” he said, after the match and the Cup triumph.
“It was a great game between two great teams who battled from the start to the end of the match. The game was worthy of a final, we’re glad we could give the fans a great evening,” the coach said.
“We wanted to win and bring home the trophy given a not very positive season,” he continued. “We beat great teams in the semi-finals and finals, so Juventus deserved to win the cup.”
“If the season had been good, we wouldn’t be talking about fifth place and a premature Champions League exit. There have been ups and downs, two trophies won’t cut it,” he added.
“Of course, I would have continued in that position. I have loved football since childhood and will continue to do so. It is up to the club to decide, but I love coaching, I love Juventus. We’ll see what decision will be made. I would like to continue.”
Pirlo said about him keeping his Juve job, which reports say is at risk: “I would like to continue.”
Cristiano Ronaldo
Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has shared his emotions after his team won their fourteenth Italian Cup final.
Though Ronaldo laboured on the field, and even took a free kick after being fouled, he couldn’t produce a goal.
“I couldn’t be happier to win another title in the service of this great club,” Ronaldo wrote on Instagram.
He posted a picture of him sleeping with the trophy he won.
“Go Juventus all the way,” he captioned it, ecstatic about his club winning the Cup.
