Real Madrid 6-0 Real Valladolid
Karim Benzema is still an invaluable asset to Real Madrid in the autumn of his career. The captain of De Koninklijke showed his class against Real Valladolid on Sunday by making a hat-trick in just six minutes and thirty seconds. Real did what it had to do and recorded an easy win (6-0).
Hat-trick in seven minutes: Benzema excels at winning Real Madrid
Benzema’s last league goals dated from the home game against Elche. On Wednesday, February 15, Real’s veteran fired twice against the last goal (4-0). Benzema then failed to score against Atlético Madrid, Real Betis and Barcelona, but he more than made up for that against Valladolid.
After Rodrygo took the Madrid lead halfway through the first half, it was Benzema’s turn. Just within half an hour, the French striker doubled the score. In the 32nd minute and 36th minute it was hit again. The last goal in particular was of great beauty. Benzema’s goal-scoring drive saw Real lead 4-0 against Valladolid halfway through.
Benzema’s hat-trick relieved all tension in the second half. Even Eden Hazard was allowed to make minutes. The Belgian attacker relieved Benzema and entered a La Liga game for the first time since September. Real eventually freewheeled to a big win. Marco Asensio, who was still the principal with the opening goal, increased the score to 5-0. The final agreement came in the name of Lucas Vázquez, who walked in a cross from Hazard (6-0).
Thanks to the victory, Real remains somewhat in the wake of leader Barcelona, which is twelve points ahead with eleven games to go.
Ocampos is again worth gold for Seville in the hunt for survival
Lucas Ocampos helped Sevilla to an important victory in the fight against relegation on Saturday evening. The Argentine attacker scored his third goal in the competition match with direct competitor Cádiz since he returned from his rental period at Ajax.
For example, Sevilla has already had more fun with Ocampos than Ajax in the entire first half of the season. The 28-year-old winger only made six appearances for the team from Amsterdam, before returning to his actual employer in January. He could use him well in the hunt for survival, as has since become apparent.
Ocampos was already important three weeks ago with the equalizer in the eventual home game with Almería (2-1) and led Sevilla to their second league victory since February 11 on a visit to Cádiz on Saturday. The right winger struck five minutes after the break, after goalkeeper David Gil had released the ball at a corner.
Sevilla called the Argentinian Lucas ‘Golcampos’ after that goal, but the real goal getter with the Andalusians is called Youssef-En-Nesyri. The Moroccan striker only scored once in the first half of the season, but has got a taste after the World Cup. With his eleventh goal of 2023, he secured the victory.
