Louis Saha claims that Marcus Rashford and Kylian Mbappe are the same skills-wise.
“Marcus and Kylian are quite similar in terms of places. They like to play wide, but they have also played top,” Saha told. “They are both very fast players, having the technical ability to get out of situations where two or three defenders surround them.”
About Rashford, he said, “With United, Rashford was part of a transition team so he wasn’t really able to express himself. He must have been a leader when perhaps at first it wasn’t his strength.
“He had to build qualities not his initial focus should have been.”
He then said that Frenchman Mbappe actually took advantage of his condition:
“The strength of Kylian is that he’s always, all the time, very direct. He thinks no twice. You have to give him the ball when he makes runs, he is so fast.
“They’re definitely in the same bracket in terms of quality. Mbappe was able to achieve greater consistency and approach the game without having to think too much.
“Mbappe took advantage of this because he was able to play with top-level PSG players, so he was able to build confidence and try different things, a platform that Rashford hasn’t had up to now.”
