Stoke City have signed forward Liam McCarron from Leeds United. The club announced: “Stoke City have completed the signing of Leeds United winger Liam McCarron for an undisclosed fee, the Club can confirm.
“The 21-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a three-year deal with the Potters and becomes Michael O’Neill’s fourth acquisition of the summer.”
O’Neill said: “Liam is a young man but he has already shown that he can deal with the challenge of first-team football. He’s hungry to learn and progress his career and we are really pleased to
have secured his services for at least the next three years.”
“I’m very pleased to get it over the line,” McCarron expressed to Stoke City+. “It’s been going on for a little while, so I’m glad to finally be here.
“I had a few chats with the manager, and this place felt like home. He made it feel like I was at home, and I would be given a chance to play in the first team.
“He told me that I was wanted here and how he wants me to prove to everyone that I can play week in, week out.”
He added: “I think it was time for a fresh challenge. I’m at that age now that I want to be playing regular first team football.”
