Ukraine Will Advance in Euro 2020 with a Last-second Goal
The Ukrainians left the initiative to the Swedes, the national team with the least possession of all in the Euros. They only threatened to counterattack.
In the 11th minute, Olsen saved Jarmolenko’s shot, but the Swedish goalkeeper was powerless in the 27th minute.
Jarmolenko made an ingenious move on the right side, and he thus served a great ball for Zinchenko. He passed to the latter, on the other side, with the outside of his football boot.
And subsequently, the Manchester City side player scored an indefensible goal with a powerful shot.
The Swedes equalized in the 42nd minute after the “handball” action, when the ball came to their best scorer Forsberg.
His strong shot hit the Ukrainian defender Zabarni and deceived the goalkeeper Buščan. So the tally was 1-1.
In the 55th minute, Sidorčuk hit the post, and only a minute later, rival player Forsberg did the same.
In the 69th minute, Forsberg passed four Ukrainians and he hit the crossbar from the edge of the penalty area.
After these excitements, the match surprisingly went into a completely calm phase. Then, it seemed, both teams could hardly wait for the counterattacks.
In the 98th minute, the Swedes cut down to ten players after Danielsson earned a direct red card. He made a rough start at Besjedin. Most of the first overtime was spent in numerous interruptions and lying down on the pitch. Otherwise, it was a very “peaceful” game with a minimum number of fouls.
In the second overtime, the Ukrainians tried to use the player more and they only succeeded in the 121st minute.
Zinchenko sent a precise ball from the left to the newly arrived center forward Dovbyk.
The latter aimed a precise header in the fall for the victory and the great celebration of the Ukrainians.
