Hero World Challenge: The starting field for this year’s Hero World Challenge, revealed Tuesday, features World No. 1, Scottie Scheffler.
Tiger Woods Dec. 1-4 tournaments at Albany in the Bahamas will feature six other golfers now ranked in the top 10 of the OWR, including Xander Schauffele, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris, and Matt Fitzpatrick (10).
Since withdrawing from the BMW Championship due to two herniated discs in his back, Zalatoris hasn’t taken the field. He also missed the Presidents Cup and the Tour Championship. Zalatoris’ agent, Allen Hobbs, stated that Zalatoris “is fully focused on getting healthy and back onto the course as soon as he is able.” A timeline for Zalatoris’ return was not given at the time.
Other notable commitments include Tom Kim, Jordan Spieth, and reigning winner Viktor Hovland. The 20-player roster still has three open places that will be filled later.
