DP World Tour: Oliver Wilson won the Made in HimmerLand tournament in Denmark with a stunning one-shot victory, giving him his first DP World Tour victory since 2014.
At the Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort, the former Ryder Cup player fired a bogey-free 67 and sank a 65-foot birdie putt on the penultimate hole to finish the week on 21 under par, one shot better than Ewen Ferguson.
Oliver Wilson began the day in a tie for the lead but quickly went on a run of seven straight pars. The Englishman followed a two-putt birdie at the eighth hole with a long putt to win the par-4 thirteenth hole.
Wilson raced to the top of the leaderboard with a 15-foot birdie at the 16th and a huge birdie at the following hole. A two-putt par at the last hole was enough to secure Wilson’s first victory since the 2014 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
“It’s kind of hit me now,” an emotional Wilson said. “Give me a minute. I said I wasn’t going to cry. Everything I’ve done to this point to rebuild my game, I knew I could do it. I was so calm there, I almost enjoyed the last hole. It’s pretty special.
You made us all cry too @Oliver_Wilson! Such a wonderful moment and story of perseverance! And what an amazing tournament. Fantastic golf, players fighting for, and keeping, their tour cards. Great crowds and lots of kids watching our beautiful sport!

“I’m so proud of myself and I’ve got a great team around me. There have been some dark times and they’ve all stuck with me so this is for them as well. I’ve been pulling from everywhere I can to try and figure this game out and I don’t think I’m there yet, but I feel like there is a lot ahead of me. I’m so pleased to get win number two.”
Ferguson moved into a tie for the lead when a great approach shot into the par-five eighth set up a 10-foot eagle. Ferguson made a 30-foot birdie putt at the third and took advantage of the par-five fifth.
The Scotsman nearly missed out on a third victory of the season by rolling in from 14 feet at the 14th hole to end a run of pars, and he then made a magnificent up-and-down at the par-four last to stay at 20 under.
