Dubai’s top tennis academy: Once more keeping his word, Roger Federer paid a visit to Tennis 360, the top tennis academy in Dubai.
Following his final professional tennis match at the Laver Cup last month, the Swiss master announced his retirement from the game. The former World No. 1 from Switzerland visited the “revitalised” Meydan on Monday.
Federer’s visit to the academy was announced on Instagram by Gwen Tan-Sproule, co-founder and CEO of Tennis 360. Tan-Sproule was shown with a great smile on her face when Federer was seen signing a few caps for her.
Speaking of his visit, the CEO expressed her appreciation to Federer for honouring his word. She said that the Basel native was in Dubai and found the time to keep his word.
Thank you for making time and being a friend, Roger Federer, Sproule wrote on her post. “On this journey to Dubai, he followed his commitment to visit and celebrate in our return to a revitalised Meydan. And he liked what he saw. But we loved what we saw.
Sproule went on to refer to Federer as the GOAT.
Sproule wrote, “Always delivering. Always elegant. Always the GOAT.”
He also kept his word to play with rising tennis star Izyan “Zizou” Ahmed, who famously questioned the Swiss during an interview at the 2017 US Open as to why he was referred to as “the GOAT.” The boy also requested that Federer play until he become professional so that they could compete against one another.
