Boxing Fight: Prospective cruiserweight fighter Viddal Riley has challenged Tommy Fury to a matchup.
Riley has challenged Fury to a battle, and Riley has a sizable social media following.
Riley, a more seasoned professional boxer from London, is unbeaten in eight fights, with five of those victories coming through knockout.
The most well-known victory, however, belongs to Fury, who is also a reality television personality and the brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury. In their pay-per-view matchup last month, he prevailed over Jake Paul in eight of the rounds.
With that victory, Fury gained the WBC ranking. Riley, who is rated by that governing organisation, has now requested a battle with Fury.
Riley claimed on his YouTube channel that Tommy was actually ranked 38th, while he was ranked 40th. He has reportedly stated: “My ambition is to be a world champion” in a number of interviews.
“He speaks about his desire to win the global championship. Currently, I am not world championship calibre. I can be and I will become what I can be, but right now I’m not.
“Thus, if you and I both aspire to be world champions, and since our rankings are close, a huge crowd would attend the battle. Others would show up to support you. People would show up to support me. If that’s what you want, why seek elsewhere?
“Who are you speaking to?
“Alternatively, stop talking about being the world champion and just state that you’re going to move up the Youtubers and start making money,” he continued.
“If that is the case, then so be it. But yell out ‘The Rilest’ if you share my aspirations and the rankings are announced in this manner.”
He does not, however, anticipate that Fury will accept his offer.
Riley said, “I’ve brought up [his] name numerous times and I’ve never received a response, which can only be for one reason.”
“I’ve always said I’m going to win the world championship, I’m going to get to the top, and you don’t get to the top by starting at zero or being unrecognised. There is a method. I am on my way since I am currently ranked number 40 in the world by a professional boxing regulatory body.
“That indicates that the trip has started. It has undoubtedly begun, but it is far from over.”
