Boxing News: When the two boxes are on Sunday, Jake Paul will “demolish” Tommy Fury, according to his trainer BJ Flores.
Prior to Sunday’s match against Tommy Fury, the brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, Flores, the trainer of online star Paul, has shown growing confidence in his boxer.
The most recent words from Team Paul indicate that something has gone well in their camp, which is surprising coming from a coach whose credo is to “not talk the loudest” and instead to “show up when it’s time to show up.”
When they ultimately enter the ring together, Flores predicted that Jake Paul will “demolish” Tommy Fury in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports News.
“Tommy has some pretty admirable qualities,” he noted. He has good hand speed and a lot of experience in the boxing ring, but I think a better athlete is in with him.
“Jake has a greater boxing IQ, punches harder, and is smarter overall. In my opinion, Jake does a lot of things that will cause Tommy a lot of issues.”
The “new Jake Paul” Flores has promised will appear on Sunday and show off “a lot of those new tools and new things we’ve been working on.”
“We’re [stopping] this man… inside three rounds,” the 43-year-old trainer continued.
Fury will experience the pressure.
Tyson Fury, who now holds the WBC heavyweight belt, has playfully threatened his younger half-brother Tommy that if he loses to Jake Paul, he can stay in Saudi Arabia and adopt a new surname.
The heavyweight champion’s remarks, according to Flores, have left Fury in “a very tight spot.”
“I feel like it’s placed a lot of pressure on Tommy,” he added. Tyson is a very clever boxing guy and is well-versed in the sport.
“He has never engaged in combat in front of as many spectators as Jake has. He has never given the opening act in front of 20,000 people. He has never competed in a main event or main spotlight match on a pay-per-view programme.
