Boxing News: At the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Saturday, Tyson Fury decisively defeated Derek Chisora in 10 rounds to complete a trifecta of triumphs over “Del Boy.”
But Mahmoud Charr wasn’t impressed. The Syrian heavyweight, who is based in the United Arab Emirates, had previously been connected to a match with Fury.
“For me and the boxing community, the Chisora fight ‘means nothing,’” according to Charr.
“What changes in a book whether you read it once, twice, or three times? Nothing, which is why I refer to this fight as a small victory for Fury and a significant financial victory for Chisora.”
Charr insisted that he would present a superior challenge for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
According to Charr, “Fury is aware that I’m more dangerous than Chisora.”
“He is aware of my tale. I’ve had two fresh hip procedures and two injections, but neither have stopped me. Why should he forbid me? He is well aware that since I am ‘The Arab King,’ nobody can stop me.”
Charr wants nothing more than to take a shot at Fury on his own. “If I could ask for anything in the world,” he remarked. “It would be to face ‘Gypsy King’ Fury, possibly in the UAE the following year.”
“I desire the greatest there is. Tyson Fury is the man’s name.”
However, Charr continued, “And second is Anthony Joshua.”
“Joshua is a fantastic sportsman,” he added. “He is a gentleman and a clever boxer. This conflict is also a gift and a wish for all Arab nations.
“If he wants the smoke, maybe he’s willing to fight me in the United Arab Emirates.”
