IPL 2023: The thrilling action in the 16th season of the Indian Premier League will commence on Tuesday, April 4, when Delhi Capitals host Gujarat Titans in their first home game of the year. Delhi will play their first game at home in four years, much like every other IPL team. The David Warner-led team will be without usual captain Rishabh Pant, who sustained injuries in a terrible automobile accident in December 2022 and is now out for the entire season.
The whole Delhi Caps team recorded a special message for Pant before their first home game, wishing him a quick recovery. Many DC players, including Prithvi Shaw, Axar Patel, Rovman Powell, Kuldeep Yadav, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, and others, were seen in the film expressing their deepest sympathies to the famous cricketer and letting him know how much they missed his presence in the locker room.
“I hope your healing is going well. I’ve seen your films and can tell that you’re progressively gaining the ability to walk. Dekh raha hu tere vids ab dhire dhire chal raha hai. Now, baby steps are being taken. Extremely pleased to watch your progress,” Shaw said in a video posted by the IPL’s official Twitter account.
“We’ll be performing in Delhi again in three to four years. You will be missed by us. I can tell you’re recovering well. The fact that you are participating in the recovery pool for 30 minutes is significant,” Axar added.
“I wish you a speedy recovery. We will work to win it for you, brother, and I know you back us,” Powell replied.

Rishabh Pant will attend the opening game against GT at home.
The wicketkeeper-batter will reportedly be present at the stadium to see Delhi’s opening home game of the year. According to reports, Shyam Sharma, the director of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), previously informed the media that special preparations had been made for Pant to watch the game at the stadium.
Since suffering a terrible accident in December while travelling from Delhi to his birthplace of Roorkee, Uttarakhand, this will be his first public appearance. Pant hit a divider with his fast Mercedes, but thanks to several bystanders, he was able to flee the burning automobile just in time.
The 25-year-old had many wounds that will currently keep him out of commission indefinitely. He last appeared on the pitch in December 2022, during the second Test match between India and Bangladesh, where he also recorded an incredible first-inning score of 93.
