PSL 2023: Mohammad Amir, an elite pacer, lost his composure during the second game of the Pakistan Super League between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings when Babar Azam hit him for a four on the last delivery of the sixth over. The left-arm pacer managed to bowl a dot delivery on the very next pitch, retrieved the ball in his follow-through, and then threw it in the square (pitch).
After being struck for a boundary, Amir appeared irate, and the same was evident in his reaction to the subsequent delivery.
Shoaib Malik, a batter for the Karachi Kings, said as much after the game, “The respect element shouldn’t be lacking from the game.” The veteran believed that everyone on the pitch ought to act professionally and with respect.
“Respect shouldn’t be missing, in my opinion. Every time Amir, Imad, and Babar meet, they bow respectfully to each other in front of me. You won’t get along with everyone in this room in the same way. Some would mesh nicely, some you’d like, and others you might not. However, only professionals would do that. You all must respect one another, too.
It benefits the league. When you first join the league, you should concentrate on what motivates you to perform at your peak. But we are aware that nobody crosses the line.” Malik stated, according to NDTV.
