Carlo Ancelotti sees Harry Kane as an important transfer target for Real Madrid. According to The Athletic, the Real Madrid coach insisted during a meeting with the club management on the signing of the star player from Tottenham Hotspur.
Ancelotti asks Real leadership to get Kane
Ancelotti sat down on Thursday with President Florentino Pérez and José Ángel Sánchez, the general manager of Real Madrid. Plans for next season were discussed. According to sources, Ancelotti suggested that Kane be taken seriously. The 29-year-old striker would be ready for a new challenge, but Spurs have no intention of selling the goal getter to a competitor from the Premier League. Kane’s contract has only one more season left.
There are currently not many good options for the striker position with the number two of La Liga. Behind Karim Benzema, Mariano Díaz was the second striker on paper this season. The 29-year-old striker only played a total of 156 minutes and will leave the club on a free transfer in the summer. In the absence of Benzema, Ancelotti has regularly had winger Rodrygo play in the front line this season.
Ancelotti did not want to say anything about the interest in Kane during his press conference on Saturday. “I’ve always said Kane is an excellent player, but he’s under contract with Tottenham and we have to respect the player and the club,” he said gallantly.
Tottenham Hotspur is the most profitable football club in the world
Speaking of Tottenham’s Kane, three football clubs are in the top ten of sports clubs with the largest profits. That is the result of a survey by the American business magazine Forbes.
The magazine’s journalists looked at the profits sports clubs have made over the past three years. American Football club Dallas Cowboys performed best by far. The club from Texas made a profit of 1.09 billion euros in that period.
Tottenham Hotspur is the football club with the highest ranking in the elite list. The club of chairman Daniel Levy, who is known as a tough negotiator when it comes to transfers, made a profit of 386 million euros. Financial specialist Kieran Maguire was not surprised by that outcome, he said in English media: “Tottenham is not only the most profitable club in Premier League history, it is also by a long way.”
There are three football clubs in the top ten of Forbes. All three come from the Premier League. Where Tottenham is number three, Manchester United (376 million euros) is fifth. Manchester City is the number ten with a profit of 307 million euros over the past three years.
