Thursday night’s 3-0 victory at Aston Villa was a notable game for David De Gea. He’s played many games for Manchester United and hopes to play many more.
“I hope I have 400 more games coming! Yeah, I am very pleased,” David said, according to Manchester United.
He talked of his tremendous joy in surpassing the performance of Peter Schmeichel in total games for Manchester United.
“Sorry to Schmeichel,” he remarked with a smile. “This is amazing. Which means I’ve been here for a long time and I worked at the highest of very, very good and I’m very, really happy. I’m glad to play so many games with this club.”
De Gea now sits behind only one man, Alex Stepney, in the United goalkeeper’s all-time appearance list.
