pundit Graeme Souness has urged Tottenham Hotspur to sign the Leicester City duo Caglar Soyuncu and Ricardo Pereira. He has also suggested Angelino from Manchester City as a possible signing.
Soyuncu and Pereira were outstanding for Leicester City, and if the Foxes agreed to sell either it would be a massive surprise.
Soyuncu will be perfect when the Belgian moves on in summer. He is still young but has already established himself as a high-quality defender of the Premier League.
And Tottenham need to substitute Jan Vertonghen. In the future, Mourinho could help him to develop into a world-class star.
As for Pereira, he’s one of the league’s best right-backs and will be a huge improvement next season on the likes of Aurier.
Similarly, the Manchester City left is also quite talented and Angelino would be a better option than Ben Davies for Spurs.
He said (quotes): “In terms of potential solutions, I like Caglar Soyuncu at Leicester City very much. He is strong, quick and good on the ball but crucially also takes defending seriously. It’s not all about passing it out from the back and how he looks on the ball for him. He’s the standout signing for me this summer, the centre half they will all be after. I also like Leicester’s right-back, Ricardo Pereira, he’s got the right qualities for the modern game and Angelino, the left-back who’s on loan from Manchester City at RB Leipzig, has impressed me.”
It’ll be interesting to see if at the end of this season, Spurs is making a bid for any of these players.
After all, the Leicester City duo will cost a lot of money and this summer, Spurs may not have the resources to bring them in. There have been reports that because of the Coronavirus losses this season, Spurs will have a limited transfer budget. For this very reason, Angelino might be out of reach for them too.
