Interim manager Ralf Rangnick keeps attempting to put Manchester United back on the path to success. But his plans have taken a major blow due to the club’s recent coronavirus outbreak, according to reports. The English Premier League have cancelled the Red Devils’ last two games due to several positive tests in their camp. Among related COVID-19 troubles in other clubs today, Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United haven’t found their legs yet, due to outbreaks.
All 20 Premier League clubs held a meeting on Monday and the league rejected a firebreak through winter (football news). They instead decided to play whichever matches, with whichever teams available, they could to avoid a pile-up of rearranged matches.
EPL also confirmed that 92 per cent of its club’s players and staff have received at least one vaccination dose. Some have even finished getting two or three doses of their vaccination against COVID.
Ralf Rangnick’s Manchester United Haven’t Found Their Legs Yet
Already, though, Premier League have called off Manchester United’s clash with Brentford on December 14.
We believe Ralf Rangnick to have only had nine first-team players available what with several positive COVID-19 cases and injuries.
That number came down to just seven players at the weekend, prompting Premier League to postpone United’s visit to Brighton.
On top of all this, the main training ground for Manchester United at Carrington has also remained shut. United players and staff have thus not arrived for training for over a week in order to counter the outbreak.
All this has come at a huge cost to Manchester United interim boss Ralf Rangnick. He cannot even begin to haul United back on track following a poor start this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Rangnick joined the club management November 29 but has had very little time to put his ideas in place.
Now, though, the former RB Leipzig tactician will likely lead his side out against Newcastle on December 27. This gives him and his team six days to improve the situation and their form in preparation for the game.
