World Cup Football News – England Crushed San Marino 0-10 Away
First Half
The hosts’ resistance lasted just over five minutes. Harry Maguire slammed his slab head into Phil Foden’s corner, which left Elia Benedettini with little chance.
Soon after, Filippo Fabbri prodded Bukayo Saka’s poor right-footed shot past his own goalie to score 2-0 for San Marino.
After Dante Rossi erred with a handball in the box, Harry Kane made it 3-0 from the penalty spot.
Kane now ranks fourth on England’s all-time goalscorer list, surpassing Tottenham legend Jimmy Greaves, and close to Wayne Rooney’s record.
All four of the captain’s goal came before the half-hour mark.
The Three Lions captain then reduced the gap on third-placed Gary Lineker. He scuffed Emile Smith Rowe’s effort into the bottom corner for his fourth goal.
After San Marino conceded another penalty for handball, Kane scored his third and England’s fifth goal in the match.
It was his seventh hat-trick in international competition, and he became the first player in Three Lions history to score three goals in a row.
There was also time for Kane to score a fourth goal before halftime, bringing him to level with Lineker on the all-time scoring list.
Second Half
San Marino was initially difficult to break down after the break, but this did not last long.
Instead, Emile Smith Rowe celebrated his first England debut by smashing home Tammy Abraham’s flick-on just before the hour mark.
Dante Rossi received a second yellow card for hauling Conor Gallagher down. This was just outside the box with just 20 minutes remaining, and the host side went down to 10 men.
Tyrone Mings then nodded home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross from the subsequent free-kick, making things even worse.
After that, Jude Bellingham thought he’d scored his first England goal, only for Abraham to oddly rule it out. The goal was invalid for a ‘foul’ in the build-up.
Nonetheless, the Roma player ended up making amends in the 78th minute, scoring neatly to make it 9-0.
And Saka got in on the action just seconds later. He nodded into the empty net to bring the score to double figures and for guests England to win 0-10.
