PSV Eindhoven gave the green light on Monday for the loan deal of left back Philipp Max. The German defender finished the season at Eintracht Frankfurt. The current number six in the Bundesliga has also stipulated an option to buy in the lease.
Max (29) was a familiar face at PSV in the first half of the season, but in recent games coach Ruud van Nistelrooij put the three-time German international on the bench. Against FC Emmen, Max came on as a substitute after a red card for Mauro Júnior, who was kicked off as left back.
The suspended Mauro Júnior was replaced in the home game against Go Ahead Eagles by Philipp Mwene. Max stayed on the bench for ninety minutes. The German left back was taken over from FC Augsburg by PSV in the summer of 2020 for almost eight million euros and played 117 official matches in the shirt of the team from Eindhoven. Patrick van Aanholt (Galatasaray) is the intended new left back for PSV.
Eintracht Frankfurt, last season’s Europa League winner, already took over Mario Götze from PSV last summer. The team of coach Oliver Glasner occupies sixth place in the Bundesliga and is five points behind leader Bayern Munich, which was held 1-1 on Saturday in the Allianz Arena by Max’s new club.
Thorgan Hazard to PSV
PSV expects to reel in Thorgan Hazard. Negotiations with Borussia Dortmund and the attacker are moving in the right direction. PSV wants to rent Hazard, with an option to buy.
Hazard (29), who can play on both flanks, does not play much in Germany this season. He only had a starting place in two Dortmund league matches and did not play in the first matches of this calendar year. Hazard was not even included in the match selection against FSV Mainz 05 and Bayer Leverkusen.
On Sunday it was announced that PSV was in talks with Hazard and everything indicates that the 47-time Belgian international will come to Eindhoven. Negotiations are moving in the right direction; PSV is hopeful that the deal can be completed on Tuesday.
PSV lost Cody Gakpo and Noni Madueke this winter, while Yorbe Vertessen was loaned out. Paris Saint-Germain also wants to make an offer for Johan Bakayoko. So far, the people of Eindhoven have only brought Fábio Silva. Who is on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, back for the vanguard.
