“I’m overjoyed. Today’s game was challenging. It was possibly the hottest and muggiest day ever,” according to Medvedev.
“The going wasn’t easy. I’m not sure if Jannik suffered from a minor injury or cramp. I also tried not to appear that I was struggling.
He continued, “I haven’t won such a huge title in maybe a year and a half.” Since winning Toronto in 2021, he hasn’t experienced Masters 1000 success. “Toward the finish, I felt a little unsteady.
“Not even close; I’m not afraid to win. Yet, the hands continue to shake a little, making the serve a little bit more difficult. I was able to gather myself and win the match.”
